City of Spring Valley Snow Parking and Removal Reminder:

 

City Code Section 72.09 – Seasonal Nighttime Parking

It shall be unlawful for any person to stop, park or leave standing any vehicle upon any street between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. from November 1st until April 1st.

 

City Code Section 151.015 Subd. 2 – City to Remove Snow and Ice

Ice and Snow a Nuisance. All snow and ice remaining upon public sidewalks is declared a public nuisance and shall be removed by the owner or tenant of the property within twelve (12) hours after such snow or ice has stopped falling. 

City to Remove Snow and Ice. The City may remove snow and/or ice from sidewalks, beginning twenty-four (24) hours after snow or ice has stopped falling. All snow or ice which is discovered after that 24 hours, will be removed and the cost of the removal will be the responsibility of the private property adjacent to the sidewalk which the snow and ice were found and removed.

 

For Emergency Purposes

For property owners who have fire hydrants adjacent to their property, it is the home owner’s responsibility to clear snow on and around city fire hydrants.
